Way to block a website using Mozilla Firefox

The Internet hosts billions of web pages but a large chunk of this material may be inappropriate for kids. User can stop pondering anymore about it. There is the east way that can possibly helps the user to prevent kids from viewing the dark side of the world wide web by using Mozilla Firefox.

Mozilla Firefox had provided few Add-ons which is Foxfilter, Blocksite and etc. User can search more at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:1/cat:12

For Foxfilter

Step 1 :
To add this add-on to browser just need to go to the following URL and click the “Add to Firefox” button.

Step 2 :

Once user have added the firefox add-on, go to the Tools menu bar at the top of their firefox browser and navigate to “FoxFilter Preferences” and open that page. Then, select the first option that is “Enable Filtering” and click on “Save Changes ” button.

Step 3 :

Now open the same page again and go to the “Black List” option at the top. Scroll down and user will see a field named “Block these keywords and websites”. This field can be edited and user can put any keywords that they want to be blocked. For instance user want to block www.facebook.com, they just need to click anywhere in that field and write www.facebook.com or simply facebook and then click the “Save Changes” button.

And this is it. Now when kids are trying to open facebook in the browser, it will give them an error message of “Content Blocked”. Do you think block a website is easy?

FoxFilter also has a password protection feature that allows user to access various settings and uninstallation f this add-on. So no one can uninstall this add-on or change its settings.

Step 4 :
Open the “FoxFilter Preferences” page and go to the “Security” tab and set your password as you would like. After filling all the fields dont forget to click the “Save Changes” button. And you’re done.

*Note : This procedure is just for Mozilla Firefox browser.
