Continue on Microsoft MIX10 Mobile Web Browser

Let me continue on the Microsoft MIX10 Mobile Web Browser. The video shown was only showing the apparatus available for the Microsoft Phone. There are many more videos about Microsoft Phone and the functions of the Phone. There are many demo about different functions of Microsoft MIX10 like, Phone push notification, game apparatus, marketplace, Twitter apparatus seesmic, FourSquare, Gaming hub video and so on.

There is also another video that are recorded during the a 3 day conference for web designers and developers building the world's most innovative web sites from March 15th - 17th 2010 in Las Vegas.

There ia a video on the Developer, Joe Marini from Microsoft presented on the Microsoft MIX10 and he stated that,

Way to block a website using Mozilla Firefox

The Internet hosts billions of web pages but a large chunk of this material may be inappropriate for kids. User can stop pondering anymore about it. There is the east way that can possibly helps the user to prevent kids from viewing the dark side of the world wide web by using Mozilla Firefox.

Mozilla Firefox had provided few Add-ons which is Foxfilter, Blocksite and etc. User can search more at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:1/cat:12

For Foxfilter

Step 1 :
To add this add-on to browser just need to go to the following URL and click the “Add to Firefox” button.

Step 2 :

Once user have added the firefox add-on, go to the Tools menu bar at the top of their firefox browser and navigate to “FoxFilter Preferences” and open that page. Then, select the first option that is “Enable Filtering” and click on “Save Changes ” button.

Step 3 :

Now open the same page again and go to the “Black List” option at the top. Scroll down and user will see a field named “Block these keywords and websites”. This field can be edited and user can put any keywords that they want to be blocked. For instance user want to block www.facebook.com, they just need to click anywhere in that field and write www.facebook.com or simply facebook and then click the “Save Changes” button.

And this is it. Now when kids are trying to open facebook in the browser, it will give them an error message of “Content Blocked”. Do you think block a website is easy?

FoxFilter also has a password protection feature that allows user to access various settings and uninstallation f this add-on. So no one can uninstall this add-on or change its settings.

Step 4 :
Open the “FoxFilter Preferences” page and go to the “Security” tab and set your password as you would like. After filling all the fields dont forget to click the “Save Changes” button. And you’re done.

Is it important for us to secure our web browser? Definitely, hands down! 100% of the readers agree that it is important to secure their web browser. This means that none of the readers disagree that it is not important to secure it. A very important question to ask yourself is how secure is your web browser. Multiple web browsers may be installed in your computer. Other software applications in your computer such as email clients or document viewers may used a different browser that you normally use to access the web. For this reason, it is important to securely configure each browser that might be installed on your computer. One advantage to have multiple web browsers is that one browser can be used for sensitive activities only such as online banking and the other can be used for general purpose. This can minimize the chances of vulnerabilities in a web browser, web site or any related software that can be used to compromise sensitive information.

And now, how can you tell if a webpage is secure? Anytime a webpage asks you for sensitve information, you need to be able to identify whether the page is secure or not. It is extremely important as online fraud cases has been increasing substantially year by year. Especially, when girls out there likes to do online shopping. For that reason, with secure browser, it can guide girls to safer online shopping.

There are two (2) general indications of a secure webpage. First, it is to check the webpage URL/address. Normally, the URLs will begins with the letters 'http'. However, over a secure connection, the address should be displayed as 'https'. Notice the change in the URL? The 's' at the end indicated secure which is the page displayed now is safe to be used.

Secondly, check out for the 'lock' icon at somewhere at the bottom of the window in the browser. For instance, if you are using the Internet Explorer, it displays the lock icon in the bottom right of the browser's window. The 'lock' icon is not just a picture! Click on the icon to see details of the site's security. It is important to know because some fraudulent websites are built a bar at bottom of the webpage to intimate the lock icon of your browser. So, what are you waiting for? Check now!
