Mozilla Firefox vs Google Chrome

(Link to us: http://snipurl.com/u7r1m)

Due to the results obtained from last week poll, I had decided to write a post about the most preferred type of browsers by the public. Therefore, in this post, I will be discussing the battle between Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. Lets begin with by learning more about the comparison of these two browsers.

Google Chrome is a webkit-based Internet browser that had been released. With all the publicity that is created around it, many people have already tried and had their very first impressions about it. While,Firefox is an advanced with its root from the old Netscape browser. Can Google Chrome give a competition to Firefox which is now considered the best browser in business?

Speed: Firefox is fast but Chrome loads faster and keep you surfing super fast. This will be the first thing to note in Chrome as it is twice as fast as in JavaScript. It loads websites in lighting speed. An average user will experience almost immediate web browsing with it. For instance, opening mail in Gmail is almost stunningly fast. Even Youtube rocked in Chrome.

User-friendly: Just like Firefox, Chrome is also very user-friendly as the navigation is quite simple. However, Firefox is much better than Chrome as the ending is somewhat clumsy as everything is embedded in menus and also the tabs on the top are hard to find. For instance, the differences in Firefox and Chrome tabs. Tabs are at the top in Chrome which is above the buttons for back, forward, refresh and most importantly the address bar while in Firefox, the tabs are at the top of the application window.

Security: Firefox is well-known for its security whereas Chrome whose core is a multi-process platform which helps provide users with enhanced security. Both browsers have an anti-malware tool that warns users when they visit a website that is known to install viruses, spyware and other malicious codes. This tool also helps protect against known as 'phishing' sites. However, an early criticism of Chrome is the lack of a 'Master Password' feature that Firefox supports. In the absence of such a feature, anyone who uses the browser will have access to the stored passwords. Both browsers allow users to view the stored password in plain text. However, Firefox's Master Password feature prevents unauthorized users to use this feature.

Design: Like Google's homepage, Chrome is very minimal. The browser is designed to be out of the way that the user only sees the site, not the browser. The whole interface looks just like browsing another google site. There is no status bar and menu bar. Chrome's tabs are above the address bar (as opposed to Firefox where the tabs are below the address bar).Chrome comes in Google's trademark which is baby blue color.

Extensibility: Firefox is a flexible, open source browser with thousands of extensions that help users to customize their browsing experience. Firefox extensions are the reason of its popularity. Extensions allows the application to be customized to fit the personal need of each user if they need additional features, while keeping the applications small to download. Since Chrome is also a open source browser, it is expected that several Firefox extensions will be ported to the Chrome platform and be made available for both browsers. However, this will depend upon the success of the browser with the user community as well as the extensibility of its architecture.

There are many features in which Google Chrome scored good marks but Mozilla Firefox wins the race. As Chrome is still in the BETA stage, so you would not expect t to be so popular now if you compare it to Firefox. Firefox is still the best browser so lets hope Chrome gives a tough competition to Firefox in order that we can get the best browsing experience possible.

Thank you for now. :)
